My first attempt at Freezer paper painting

I finally decided to take the plunge after my friend showed me how easy it was to do, thanks Leann :) So Here it is in all it's glory I am sorry there are a ton of pictures on this one, but when it's your own kiddo you can't help it, so bare with me.

I love for my boy clothes to look more trendy  rather than cutesy, and I think that is hard to pull off sometimes. My awesome friend Leann had this picture of the Aquabats a music group from the 90's and I fell in love with it immediately, I Stenciled that baby on and then free handed the lightning bolts and used a plate to trace out the giant circle, I suck at free handing a circle. And then did the same   thing on the back of the shirt. More circles and lightening bolts.

I decided to get really creative and use embroidery floss on the lightening bolt and at the top of the shoulders to give it that extra texture and trendiness I love.

I also just wanted to take a moment to give my victory speech and add that I am in love with a product that takes any acrylic paint and makes it into fabric paint like magic, it is amazing!!!!!!!! It is called Textile Medium from Delta Ceramcoat, It is somewhat hard to find as it wasn't in the paint section, and even the fabric paint section wanted to keep it hidden probably due to all it's incredible magic powers, I finally found it hiding in a lower shelf all by itself conceled. It was definitely worth the hunt.

Cougars have ruined my son because he is a fan just like his daddy!!!!!

The front side
So I wanted to make an original t-shirt for my son who loves to be like daddy and bleed blue, I am so disappointed but at least my other son still loves mommy and will wear red.
I don't like paying a ton for licensed merchandise so I was terrible and used the logo to make my own. But in all defense I free handed it. And it was super cheap, looks very much like a masculine shirt thanks to my husband who came up with the saying UTES ARE YUMMY.

All you need is a bleach pen or bleach paint brush whatever you have on hand. An old towel to use in between the shirt so it doesn't bleed through. And make a stencil or freehand your design. Paint the bleach onto the shirt and wait awhile, I didn't have a clue on when it was done and hence am not a patient person and used my hair dyer to speed up the process. Works great. Then I threw it in the wash and it actually worked like a charm, I was so pleasantly shocked that it didn't disintegrate into my hands. I know it may not be the best tutorial but it really will workout in the end, just don't spill in random spots. All ready for the big game.

Finished project, the back side.
Yes he has a glow stick on his face, he thought it would make the pictures better

Stripes are not all created equal

Yah!!!! I finally posted a picture, it's only been a trillion years in the making. This is my most recent project. Painting my sons room. As you may be able to tell, it is a work in progress. Eventually I am hoping for a California surfer/ Old time Woodie car kind of theme. I will say I was an idiot as trying to keep it more vintage old surfer than Hawaiian not an easy process!!!! Just to let you know. I feel I could go on a political campaign run on which is the best painters tape to use as they are not all created equal, And what is the best way to achieve the stripes? It was a process in the making. Plus with the way I am I saw the colors in the stores without coordinating it to the bedspread. So I went on another whim, with my painting adventures.

Where Have I been may you ask?

Sometimes life takes you for a whirlwind adventure, And mine has been more of a tornado. Not that life is terrible by any means it has just become chaos and craziness in the last few months. But I am ready to get back into blogging more and hopefully post projects I have been working on, like my spare of the moment project to paint very bight stripes in my sons room and thinking why not paint my kitchen orange to. I have been doing lots of projects without pictures and I feel terrible about not getting more pictures going. I would love to show off my bird crapped on blue mailbox which now almost looks shabby chic, as if I distressed it myself, very impressive I think when I hardly had to do anything to get that antique vibe. Do you think Pottery Barn would want to copy that? I was also shocked to find that someone has looked at this blog so I thought I would pick it back up again. Assuming I can get away from all the whirlwind excitement. And get back to more creating and mommy timeouts as this is a necessity of life. What in the world are mommy timeouts you may ask? It is when your sweet husband gets flustered with you because of all the constant craziness of home life and beyond, that he says, "Do I need to put you in timeout?" Of course you say YES!!!!!!!!!!PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LET ME GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!AND NO KIDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!( AS I AM IN TIMEOUT)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it. (End of Story.)

JUST FOR FUN IDEA: See if you can get a timeout for yourself and relax while you hear your hubby in the background, I was just kidding, I need help!!!! and just go with it, and smile.

When you feel like you just peed your pants kind of moment

So.... I haven't taken any pictures because when you have those pee your pants moments you don't feel like sharing very often but I am one who firmly believes why the heck not. So I received this paint sample in the mail and decided to use it because A.) it was free, and B.) Free. I now have a house that I can decorate and thought this would look great in the laundry room.. So me the adult here decided to paint with the small roller provided and not tape off the wall like normal smart-minded people, I was just so excited to go with it, and see what happened. My three year old thought I was the coolest mom ever because he got to paint the wall and have fun with it to. As this being my only jar of sample paint it was tiny and needed to cover the whole wall. So I squeezed out every morsel I could. I realized when I came to the top and bottom of the wall I needed a paint brush that did not exist as it is packed away and only Superman could find it with his x-ray vision. So me being totally in the moment and thinking I am brilliant started using my finger as a paint brush and lather that baby on. Hey, I did cover the entire wall, so it was a Happy Birthday moment for me. And my son did think I was great for about maybe 10 minutes, So I think it all went rather well, and turned out to be a beautiful mess in the end of it all, But I need to rethink my painting adventures for the next time. I know if my mom were reading this she would probably think Laurel I taught you better than that, or laugh as it does seem like a me moment. I should have learned from a couple days ago as I decided that turquoise would be the coolest mailbox color ever!!! It is definitely making it's own statement. You can't miss my house now as it is glowing  like Rudolph nose (just not red) At night it's so bright, I bet you could see it from space. And it looks like a giant bird egg as, birds are always deciding to sit on top of it. Oh well, maybe when they decide to crap on top of it, it will turn white again.(just saying) Hope you are all having a blast and make it a great up and coming week. With no paint involved whatsoever, unless you want to be the coolest parent for about 10 minutes.

I can't believe we did it!!!

We have just recently purchased our first house, I never thought this day would come. I feel like it's the biggest Hallelujah moment, not to mention the biggest stress magnet ever!!! I can see why people never want to move, the process is so crazy even if you get people who know what they're doing. I have a new found respect for people who can move with little kids. It becomes a Mount Everest moment. I know I have great kids but it becomes chaotic trying to get over every little hurdle, of packing and sorting and being a mom, and getting the house to stay somewhat clean, showing your house, blah blah blah.....you get the point. I also want to take this moment to say I am so grateful for frozen dinners and paper products, my life would not be the same without it. I feel like they came down form the Gods to give me some sanity!!! I will admit I wasn't as excited to begin with, but now it is all mounting, the fast paced adrenaline, the mystery of what lies ahead, what type of neighbors will we have? Will there be kids in our new surroundings? I just love being able to fly by the seat of my pants and rock what I've got.

The things kids say

My wonderful hubby and I went in for a good night kiss, just your average typical nothing magically delicious kind of kiss. My son decided to catch us both off guard, and while we gave each other our kiss, he piped up as if he was an officer of the law and said matter of factually "CALM DOWN YOU TWO!!!" We were so shocked that we asked him to repeat  what he just said. Again came the response "YOU HEARD ME, CALM DOWN YOU TWO!!!" I broke up laughing so hard. I had no idea he felt so strongly about his conviction. Just thought I would share a little tender moment about my son. But then again..... Well I just don't want to go there.

Just For Fun Idea #3 creep your kids out and give your significant other a big wet one just to make him cringe for good measure.
